Customers say

Customers find this smartwatch to be one of the best available for kids, appreciating its practical features for parents and its ability to track and call children. The watch’s functionality and value for money receive mixed reviews – while some say it works well and is worth the price, others report it stops working after a week and consider it overpriced. The battery life is concerning, with customers reporting it drains in 1.5 days, and the location tracking accuracy is poor, showing locations up to 500 meters away from the actual position.

    Perfect watch for kids safety!!
Perfect Watch for Kids – Safe, Smart, and Easy to Use!I bought the Sekyo Carepal Pro for my child, and I’m very happy with the features and peace of mind it gives me. The watch is very easy to use, even for small kids. The video calling feature is nice and helps me stay connected anytime. My child can easily call me.One of the best parts is the SOS button. If there’s any emergency, my child can press the button, and I instantly get an alert with the location. It gives me so much confidence knowing help is just one press away. The GPS tracking seems to be good with +-50 meters, and I love the safe zone option. I get alerts if my child moves out of the set area. There’s also a classroom mode I have not explored this yet.It also has a stranger call blocker, so only approved numbers can contact the watch, which is great for security. The battery lasts a full day with normal use, and the app is very user-friendly.Overall, I highly recommend this watch to any parent looking for a safe and smart gadget for their child. Great product with all the right features!

Extremely poor quality watch – buy at your own risk
I would rate this watch zero stars if Amazon allowed it. It stopped working within an hour of charging, prompting me to inspect the battery—only to discover its shockingly poor build quality, with an extremely fragile body and wires so thin that simply opening the back could snap them.Thinking a replacement would be straightforward? Not at all. Amazon doesn’t handle it; you must contact Sekyo’s customer support, which is utterly unprofessional. They insisted on shipping the watch back to Delhi for repairs before sending it back—no option for a simple replacement, and no clear explanation why. The process dragged on for two weeks, requiring constant follow-ups from me; otherwise, they seemed to ignore it entirely. Finally, they claimed to have dispatched it, but it went to the wrong address due to their incompetence, adding another two weeks. In total, it took four weeks to receive a functional watch after my initial purchase a month earlier.Even then, issues persisted: the SIM slot is so delicate that a gentle push or pull can break it, and inserting a SIM is a frustrating struggle. Plus, only Airtel 4G SIMs are compatible—nothing else works. Charging demands a low-power adapter, or it risks failing again. I’ve never encountered so many flaws in one product. Signal quality is abysmal, making calls unreliable most of the time. I strongly advise against buying this for your child or anyone else—it’s a pathetic excuse for a smartwatch.

It is up to us to be clear about our objectives with any device like this.
I do not know whether I should penalize a star to the manufacturer of the watch, or to our 2g mobile networks – but all the same, let me share my journey and frustrations as a user who usually starts out with low expectations.Use case -I needed to be able to call my child back home from play areas which may be indoors or outdoors. He is usually in one of 6 or 7 places, so I was not very concerned about location tracking. I just needed him to know that I am looking for him. In a sense – even a pager works for this purpose – so let’s call my use case as a “glorified pager”.Important point – I WILL NOT be buying a phone for my kid. So, I needed the watch itself to have a SIM slot. He does not, and WILL NOT, carry a phone of his own. Bluetooth connectivity is out of the question in my use case. (I hope he reads this, gets embarassed, and never asks for a phone. Well… he won’t be getting one anyway.)Unboxing and getting started -Opening up, popping the back cover, moving the battery, loading the SIM, closing up, charging the phone, turning on after full charge – this was quite easy. The finish is plasticky, the battery pack connector, SIM holder parts – these need to be handled carefully, they are quite delicate. But this is to be expected at this price range.Turning on and initial usage -Easy and straightforward. The screen functions as a touchscreen, buttons perform as expected. Fairly intuitive for a 10 year old familiar with smartphones to use. The in-built math game was fun for 87 seconds, and then forgotten forever.Usage experience over a week -At the watch end -Voices are a bit muffled but fairly clear. Ring volume is low to medium, if the watch is kept inside a bag, it cannot be easily heard. On the wrist it is fine.Placing calls from the watch end is straightforward and doable by anyone. There is some minimum memory to store phone numbers (maybe 5), I have not tried that, we just dial the number we want out of our own memory.Torch is reasonable and somewhat helpful for short distances (like to see a keyhole or door handle in the dark during power cuts). Also as a positive, I must say – I have never experienced a “not reachable” situation, the watch seems to be available on the network consistently. At the phone end -This is a major disappointment for me. I can barely understand anything that my child speaks at his end. The voice breaks and cuts a lot. I cannot make out if this is an issue with the watch, or with our 2g networks. If the watch is completely stationary, the situation improves somewhat.Indoors or outdoors it is equally bad. Out of 5 calls, 2 calls can be a reasonably useful 1 minute conversation. Other 3 calls are spent saying “I can’t hear you!” “Can you repeat?” “Can you hear me?” “What did you say before that?” “Come again?”.I plan to release a comic about all these frustrations. Along with a lot of corporate jokes, mindless rambling on Teams calls, which I will title “Am I audible?” and “You are on mute.”Display -Functional, looks ok, does its job.Looks -Consistent with what you see online, provided you keep realistic expectations. No complaints though, seems ok. We got the black one, and the look and colour were as expected.App -Used at the beginning for set up, after that we have not really required it.Regarding other reviews -Many people have complained about battery life. I think we need to have realistic expectations with devices like this. It will need a daily top up if you want it to do what you need. Don’t expect it to be like an advanced smartwatch going multiple days without charge. The app does give an alert for low battery, that is a practical and useful feature. Not tested -Water resistance. I believe our kid is well-trained not to randomly swim or play with fountains. But if he has started doing stuff behind my back, we can add an extra star for water resistance. Dad jokes apart – I think at best it can just take splashes. Don’t give your snorkel to your watch-wearing kid.Location tracking. Don’t expect too much from the location tracking, since the 2g networks themselves are mostly lousy. I would look at the other reviews being accurate on this. Do you remember how bad it used to be on the 2g phones in 2011? Sorry, did I trigger some awful forgotten memories? The big question is – had I bought a different watch, would my experience have been any better? Honestly, I wouldn’t know, I have never tried another calling watch. On this one, when it rings at least my child knows that I am trying to reach out. So as a “glorified pager” – this has really been a game changer, full marks and I have definitely got peace of mind that I can reach my kid. But call quality over 2g is poor and frustrating. So use your short call windows for simple direct stuff, don’t expect to relay complex instructions or long stories via this method!
