Great Budget Smartwatch with AMOLED Display
The Redmi Watch 5 Lite is a very good smartwatch for the price. The 1.96″ AMOLED display is bright and clear, making it easy to read even outdoors. The watch feels lightweight and comfortable to wear all day. Battery life is decent and lasts several days on a single charge. Fitness tracking features like heart rate, steps, and sleep monitoring work well for daily use. The strap quality is also good. Overall, a good value for money option if you want a stylish and reliable smartwatch.

Sports features review
I bought this strictly for measuring steps and cycling data so that i can sync it to Strava app. Steps will be measured automatically but you can’t sync them to Strava as they are not measured as part of activity. So you have to start an activity like walking, running or cycling so that it will be counted and your will get details like the route, time, speed etc. if you count steps normally then you don’t need Gps. But if you start as activity then it needs Gps. Gps works fine if you are in open area but will not work if you are inside the building or a mall. It will keep reminding you if it lost the Gps signal. It will remind every 5 minutes or so about it unless you click on don’t show again. Even if you stop for 5 seconds during an activity, it will auto pause and remind you that it paused and auto resumes one you start moving and it will remind about resumption. It will vibrate for reminders. When ever no Singal or you stopped during an activity it will auto pause and resume. If you don’t use always on display and any other features then during activities 15% per hour battery will be consumed. Heart rate monitor will be on during activities and no option to disable it. So battery will last 3,4 days depending on your Gps usage. Rest all features like bluetooth and mobile app work very well. Once you finish the activity, they will be automatically synced to Strava app as soon as you on bluetooth and open MI fitness app.It is better to have either screen protector or full watch frame guard as edges will hit somewhere due to its huge screen.

Looks very good and worth the price
Bright screen. Has all the features expected from a 3K watch. Feels nice on the wrist. Big screen. Ideal for people with wider wrists. You can receive calls and talk through the watch. Long battery life. Touch screen responds very well. Monitors heart. No lag. The Redmi app works well too. The only worry – The pin buckle looks like plastic and might not have a very long life.

Disappointing Experience with Several Missing Features and Bugs
1. No Auto-Lock Feature: The watch lacks an auto-lock feature, such as unlocking by holding the side button. This is problematic in situations involving water (showering, washing hands, or rain), leading to accidental touch issues.2. Missing Auto-Brightness: At this price point, an auto-brightness feature is expected. Its absence impacts battery life, as brightness cannot adjust automatically to ambient light.3. No Compass or Water Reminder: Basic features like a compass and water reminder are missing, which are typically standard in smartwatches at this price.4. Inaccurate GPS: The GPS accuracy is subpar, affecting activity tracking.5. Software Bugs:Step counter issues: After completing 3260 steps yesterday, the stats failed to reset after midnight, showing yesterday’s data incorrectly. (As you can see in the image).Sleep tracking: The watch inaccurately recorded a nap while I was awake and moving regularly. Each time you make or receive a call, the volume automatically resets to the minimum. You have to manually increase it after every call, and there is no option to permanently set it to the maximum.Additionally, Xiaomi’s app only provides a basic breath quality score, whereas Amazfit offers more detailed information. In Amazfit, I found insights like how many times I experienced poor breath quality along with the specific times. Xiaomi’s app needs to offer more detailed data and insights for a better user experience.6. Google Calendar Sync Limitations: The watch only syncs events from Google Calendar but does not sync tasks, limiting its productivity functionality.Given these issues, the watch does not meet expectations at this price. The software is particularly disappointing. In comparison, Amazfit provided much more accurate tracking and better app data. I used Amazfit for 2 years, but due to a display issue, I decided to buy a new one and wanted to experience the Hyper OS ecosystem. Being a Xiaomi phone user, I expected more from their smartwatch, but the experience has been underwhelming. I hope future updates address the bugs and improve feature accuracy. In Amazfit, the Zepp OS provides additional features like app installations, which add value. However, I don’t see any unique features in Xiaomi’s Hyper OS. It feels as simple as what you’d find in other smartwatches in the ₹1,000-₹2,000 range like Fastrack, Fire-Bolt, Noise, Boat, or similar brands. There’s nothing special or any additional features like the ones Zepp OS offers. Xiaomi’s Hyper OS seems more like hype than actual innovation. It also lacks animated watch faces, which are common in other smartwatches. They really need to improve several aspects. After 9 months of usage speaker stopped working.

Ok for entry level tracking
Device looks ok. Ease of use. Useful for short runs or other activities standalone. But device reboots when used for prolonged activities greater than 2 hours and all your activity data is lost.

Is OK ok.
Usage review based on 20day experience.Slightly bit bulky than normal watches in this segment.Watch faces are good and customisable.Built in GPS Supports walk route monitoring without mobile and data.Cannot use for navigation. The sleep is almost good, but i found that thought i was awake at 4am watching TV, the watch took the event as sleep till 7am, its following a pattern of similar occurance. (Screenshot att)An afternoon nap was detected as sleep.Step count is atpar with other watches.Battery life as advertised, 18days not getting. Atleast 7 to 8 days it is running in new condition. My is only very minimal use.(screenshot att)There is no feature to turn off call ringing. Need to put in dnd mode. Then message will also get unnotified.Stress or high HR is not poping up, may be due to dnd. Some features need tweeking. I found boat watches more mature than redmi.
