    Limited functionality – Rectified now
I have been using the Samsung Galaxy watch 4 for the past six months. I bought the LTE version.Setting up the watch is not very complicated. Available functionality is decent. However, I feel the battery life could be better. I get about 1.5 days of battery life per charge – without using any functionality, such as Oxygen levels, etc. Tried calling and receiving the calls on the watch – far away from the phone (non-bluetooth call). Call quality is very decent. I have used the built in speaker and mic and not the Bluetooth set. Obviously, speaker volume is not very high. The mic of course is decent. I rarely answer the calls on my watch – to conserve the battery. What is frustrating is the missing functionality! The watch is capable of measuring BP and ECG. HOWEVER, that functionality is not available in India. Samsung seems to be not in a hurry to bring that functionality to India – taking shelter behind Govt of India approvals! But, it’s rivals seems to be getting approvals easily! Of course, Samsung let’s you know that the functionality is not available – on probing. But, this fact is not obvious in their advertisements. Not sure if they put it in a footnote. May be my fault! My feeling is – this is a decent watch to buy, if you are OK with restricted functionality. I use it with Galaxy Flip 4. Samsung says we have to use it with Samsung phone to get the functionality.13-Jan-2024: Samsung has released an update to the watch to introduce ECG and BP measurement features, last night. Hence, changed the subject line and the overall rating.

    Good watch
I loved this watch. There are a lot of pros and cons to this watch. But over all, it’s a good one and probably a better buy until galaxy watch 5 comes down to better pricing.Pros :1 software : what a smooth UI. What an experience. It feels so smooth and responsive to the touch, and there is an option to increase touch sensitivity too if needed. Really good and cohesive UI especially with samsung phones, this will go well. It is compatible with other android phones too. The animations and gestures are fast and don’t feel bad. There’s a touch sensitive bezel, like the classic galaxy watch has a rotating bezel. I haven’t tried the classic watch so I can’t say how this feature is in comparison to that. But I mostly don’t use the bezel scroll,as it is not so intuitive to me. Depends from person to person. The other side to this is that the touch and response is so good on the screen you don’t mind using it more.2 Display : it has a very bright and sharp display. A delight to look at. Under bright sunlight also everything is visible properly. I sent a few photos to the watch. They’re so good. Context, they were all nature photos shot in s20 fe and on the watch they do look tiny but zooming in doesn’t distort or blurr the image. The sharpness is retained along with color quality. Over all amazing display from samsung as usual.3 design : teh design of this watch is nothing short of premium. Everything from the materials used to the finishing to the straps all feels top notch. No doubt it is a sturdy watch. Can survive moderate to little rough usage. And the straps are user removable, you can remove them yourself. No need of any tool or taking to the shop. You can add third party straps as per your wish and style choices. All these straps have the same removable design and hence it is really good. If you don’t like the look of the watch, or bored of it, simply change the straps. The whole watch body is made of metal alloy which feels robust but is also very light.Cons.1 : battery. The watch battery is usually very small to begin with but other brand watches usually last around 5-7 days on a single charge. But this lasts 2 days on low usage and 1 day on heavy usage. And the bundled charger is very slow in charging it. Takes 2 hours to full.2 workout monitoring : the heart rate tracking, sleep monitoring, stress system, even body mass composition features all of them are really good. Really really accurate too. They’re pretty close to the real world. But my only gripe (it’s nitpicking) is that there isn’t a proper workout tracking or detecting features. Walking running are detected automatically and recorded as exercise sessions. It even has GPS to get accurate distance walked or ran. The watch supports a lot of different workouts like swimming, cycling, walking and running and many many more. But it can only detect a few automatically, others you have to select yourself. I personally do more weight training and strength gym. I had to always select the particular workout I was doing and only then it could track it. Extra step is annoying but it’s personal really. This watch is so fitness oriented that it even has a swimming mode where in you can wear it for a swim and it will track your session and the screen won’t respond to touches and you have to disable it by long pressing the home button and it will eject the water in speakers with a high frequency sound. It also has sleep tracking that is really good.Over all I would say getting it under 10k is really good. I have the Bluetooth version not LTE. LTE also needs esim to work. There really is no other smart watch in this price range that comes close to this one in every aspect. Go for it, its an all round amazing watch.

From 1 Star to 5 star , Those Getting Poor battery life Follow This Solution Below
[NOTE:- I will post Updates Below Do read them]#UPDATE 1 [ 23 July] =●Received the watch on July 23rd at a price of 8.5k.After unboxing, it took 2-3 minutes to detect and start charging though Charging process lasted 3 hours.Everything worked well except for battery life. Means Despite minimal use , got backup of only 11 hours. Its soo less Because My friend’s year-old watch gets 30-32 hours of backup. His Usage include AOD, GPS, Bluetooth, ECG, heart rate, blood oxygen, and stress monitoring.●However I Noticed , recent reviews show similar issues: 3-hour charging time and max 12-hour battery life. Where Older watch users who got @ 20k + gets 36- 8 hours of backup(Light to Heavy ) with *Heavy (Means continuous GPS and LTE usage.)Recent buyers who got @8.5k/12k experiences rapid battery drain even with minimal usage. Ironically Funny right 😂😂————————————————————————————————————————#UPDATE 2 [ 27July]:- So After using 4 days and 4 charge cycle(100-0). The Watch started giving 2x battery backup. yeah literally !!● 1st Charge cycle =11hr~ backup with installing all the upates and activating health services● 2nd charge cycle= ~18hr(all health sensor continue ON, Few calls from watch , and changing watch face;)…)● 3rd charge cycle= est was 24 hr. (same usage as above ) but actually got 30hr still 2hr left.which was impressive.● 4th charge cycle = same usage but today est was26 hr. but actually got. ~28 Hrs.———————————————————————————————————————-#Solution To Get Proper Battery Backup :-If recently bought then Direct follow OR getting max 12hr backup for old users then do Factory reset and Then follow :-●Step 1) Do FULL Charge while watch is “SHUTDOWN ” leave it on charging & even after 100% for 1-2 hr at least.●Step2) Turn ON > Setup Device > Use 100 – till 0%[This is 1st Charge cycle] and Do Charge to 100 % while watch is “SHUTDOWN this time also” .●Step3) Turn on after 100% > Use 100 – ~10% [This is 2nd Charge cycle] and Do Charge to 100% while “Watch is ON” this time●Step4) Use 100 – ~10% [This is 3rd Charge cycle]. Full Charge Last time “While ON”And After this Use in any charge pattern you like😂(20-80 and once/twice a week 100%is Recommended)——————————————————————————————————————-#Conclusion:- Considering at 8.5K a True Smartwatch with accurate sensors Best Watch! Still 1-2 Year Updates Left (One UI watch 6.0 which comes with galaxy AI). SO this is Definitely Best Deal! If You Are looking for Real smartwatch for 1-2 yr usage then this is Best in this Budget.● So The watch needs 4-5 Days/ 3-4Charge cycles till 100 to optimize. later it will give you Real battery life.● Instead 1 Full charge(~3hr) try to charge Twice a day for an hr. its practical.● I got 12hr max backup to 24hr . By just Calibrating watch and letting system optimize…
